How To Order

HOW TO ORDER

The easiest way for you to place an order and for us to process the order with no errors is to use the 'online' shopping facility within this website.  All you have to do is register the first time you use it and then just log in for future visits. You can of course order by email but this can often result in many emails going back and forth until we have all the information required which can allow errors to occur.

CARRIAGE

We can ship worldwide.

In order to calculate your shipping costs you will need to put the items in your shopping basket and confirm your delivery address.  Once you have entered these details a shipping quote will show.  Please do not confirm your order at this stage if you do not wish to purchase your goods.

In some cases, for heavy goods or transmissions shipments overseas, it will be a necessary for us to quote once an order is received.    In these circumstances you should wait until we have confirmed your final amount due before making payment.

Please note that when shipping goods abroad, depending on the destination, you may be charged additional costs by the carrier for local customs clearance charges, handling and duty charges.  We cannot advise on these costs as they vary from country to country and from product to product.  In some circumstances you will also be asked to nominate your own broker to clear your goods.

 

CONFIRMATION

Once your order is received you will receive an automatically generated reply.  If you have ordered a transmission we will advise the dispatch date of your order by email.  If you have ordered parts we aim to dispatch within 2 working days.  If there is any delay in the dispatch of  your order we will advise by email as soon as possible.   Once your order is dispatched you will receive an email with tracking details.

 

VAT

The prices on our website do not include vat.  It will be necessary for us to charge VAT at the current rate as advised by HM Revenue & Customs to all UK residents and to those EEC customers who do not provide a valid VAT number.  Customers outside the EEC will not be charged VAT.  EEC customers who have valid VAT numbers will be required to enter these in the first address details section on registration. 

 

PAYMENT

We can accept credit or debit card payments via Sagepay, Paypal or you can pay by bank transfer. If no carriage costs are shown on your order please do not send your payment until final costs are confirmed.

Cheques are an acceptable method of payment but it will be necessary to allow sufficient time for the cheque to be cleared before goods can be dispatched. 

 

THE ON-LINE ORDER FORM WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

 

•Your name, or Company Name, if applicable

•Address for invoicing

•VAT number, when applicable, if customer in EEC

•Telephone Number

•Email address

•Delivery address (if different from above)

 

There is a comment box once the order progresses for you to add any necessary information.

 

CORE DEPOSITS

To all non-account customers we will need to charge a core deposit on transmission orders this will be refunded immediately upon receipt of your exchange unit which must be the same type, complete and not stripped. If the exchange unit is a different type to the rebuilt unit supplied, or has parts missing or has been stripped then a surcharge may apply. Please see the appropriate section for these core deposits.

 

HOW TO RETURN AN EXCHANGE UNIT

If you have paid for return carriage (UK mainland only) please just email or call our office and we will arrange for a carrier to collect within 1-2 working days.  Please note all exchange units must be drained of oil.  If oil leaks on the return journey the unit will be held by the carrier until the unit is dry and clean.  Ashcroft Transmissions will not be liable in this incidence and it will be the responsibility of the customer to rectify this issue.  No refund of a core deposit can be made until the goods are returned back to our premises.  Although the returned goods are insured this is only applicable if the goods are securely wrapped, any damage sustained due to poor packaging will be charged to the customer.

If return carriage has not been pre-paid (all orders outside mainland UK ) then we are unable to arrange for the collection of your exchange unit and it is your responsibility to return this unit, clearly labelled.  Ashcroft Transmissions cannot be responsible or arrange a refund for units that are returned  without customers details.  Unidentified goods will only be held for a period of 60 days. Ashcroft Transmissions cannot be held responsible for loss or damage sustained on the return of your exchange unit.
